Daily Bulletin for February 4, 2020

Good morning Floodwood students and staff. Today is Tuesday, February 4th.

Good luck to the girls’ basketball team in their home game against Ogilvie tonight. Good luck to the boys’ basketball team in their away game against Nashwauk-Keewatin tonight. Bus load time is 4:10 pm.

Next week is Snow Week.  There will be dress up days and class activities.  Students will get points for dressing up and the class with the most participation will win a party during advisory in the coming months.  Students interested in the talent show need to sign up on Ms. Stupke’s door by Friday, Feb. 7. All talent show acts must be approved by Wednesday, Feb. 12 by Ms. Stupke or Mr. Root.  Talk to them for details. The talent show will be held on Friday, Feb. 14 pending student participation and 1st place will generate a prize. Sign up now.

There will be a student council meeting during lunch on Wednesday in Mr. Root’s room.

The ACT will be given on March 24th and is open to all Juniors and Seniors. Please see Ms. Stupke if you would like to sign up.

The Minnesota State Patrol District 3100 is currently accepting applications for their Spring mentorship program for high school seniors interested in a career in law enforcement. This is a great way to learn the many facets of the Minnesota State Patrol. The deadline to submit a completed application is Feb. 10. Please see Ms. Stupke for an application.

Lake Country Power is accepting applications for a free trip to the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour in Washington D.C. Juniors and Seniors whose parents or legal guardians pay an electric bill to Lake Country Power are eligible to apply. Students have the opportunity to learn about electric co-ops, American history, U.S. government, and visit national monuments. The deadline to apply is March 3. See Ms. Stupke for an application.

Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. The sophomores are selling cookie grams for $1.50 and candy grams for $1.00. They will also be raffling off a giant teddy bear. Tickets are one ticket for a dollar or 7 tickets for $5.00. Sale of tickets starts today.

Talent Search 11th graders remember to turn in your permission slip for the ACT Info Session at St. Scholastica by Friday February 7th.

Do you know what blood cancer is? It is a disease that occurs in the blood. Our blood is made up of three types of cells; red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Blood cancer crowds our healthy blood cells so they can’t do their job. Do you know what treatment for cancer are called? Tune in tomorrow to see if you’re correct, and keep those donations coming.

Today’s lunch is Ham Sandwich, baked chips, celery, fruit, and milk.

Tomorrow’s breakfast is Chocolate Chip Pancakes, fruit cup, and juice.
