Digging Into Flexibility and Cooperation Skills: Two enthusiastic culinary artists took to the kindergarten kitchen early Friday morning to make the day's snack--Healthy energy spheres!
Both students worked together to gather supplies, consider one another's ideas for the recipe, and work together to concoct the most amazing treats for the class.
Flexibility and cooperation were character traits of the week that these chefs deliciously applied in an authentic context. Yum!

Technology in Action: This week, kindergarten students revisited a recipe for homemade honey butter and used it as an opportunity to discuss advances in technology and how it helps us at home and school. Our mason jar recipe took much more time and effort, but the taste was well worth it!

Kindergarten students designed posters this week for Governor Walz in preparation for a special invitation to the Capitol for Wednesday's State of the State Address. Students wrote about what they love and get to do in school.
The purpose of this writing activity was to inform our elected officials of the exceptional education Floodwood students receive each day. Our young children are active citizens with the power to influence change!

Fighting For Our Kids Tonight!

Third grade hands on MCA prep. Practicing division, fractions, time, and money by playing math games!

It was definitely STEAMy in the library today.
Lots of fun for a lot of students.
STEAM in the Library-students working together to operate robotic Sphero balls was a fun time for 2nd, 6th, & 11th graders. First Grade spent time learning their way around a keyboard, helping others, and learning how to measure arches to get a basketball through the net.
Floodwood Students are going to ROCK the MCAs!!
MCA testing begins next week. See the picture for specific dates for each grade. Let’s make this testing experience a positive one for all!!

Softball at MIB on Thursday - Go Bears! Friday's baseball and softball games are postponed.

In kindergarten, our mission is to preserve and even magnify the wonder and excitement our students show toward learning. Look at these faces and you’ll see what learning is like for our little ones each day.
These are the faces of our future leaders who wonder, imagine, create, problem solve, and celebrate as a member of a cohesive team. Our future begins with these little ones and their daily discoveries in the classroom will help blaze the way for a brilliant future ahead.

Fresh Baked Floodwood Fun for April Fool's Day!
Mrs. Hanson and Mrs. Bartsch baked up a batch of fresh homemade "brownies" (Brown E's) for students and community members this morning. What a "sweet" way to remind everyone how essential they are to our school!
