Science MCA’s will take place this week for Floodwood Students in 5th, 8th and 10th grade. High school students need to bring their charged chromebooks to school, elementary students have their chromebooks in the classroom already. We would like to remind families to be sure their children are prepared with a good night’s rest, minimize screen time the night before and healthy breakfast. Also to do their best to be on time and present on days of testing. Teachers work hard to be sure to have extra snacks and fun to celebrate their hard work on testing days. Please see the attached photo on ways parents/guardians can help their students with test anxiety.

STARBASE Day 4- Classifying rocks on Mars, CAD design, STEM careers, and we got to test out our 3D printed turbine blades!

Reminders for PSEO students: The deadline for new students to apply for fall is May 31st. STARBASE Day 3 - There was a vehicle disfunction and our mission was to create a chemical reaction with the materials we had in order to keep warm on Mars. CAD design was to create a Mars base, then we analyzed its atmosphere.

Girls Basketball Coach Position for the 2026-2027 Season Available

Floodwood School is in search of a Girls Basketball Coach for the 2026-2027 season. The schedule C contract amount for the Girls Basketball Coach is $6,578.00.

Job Summary: Position is responsible for coaching student athletes in game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition. Position motivates student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport.

STARBASE Day 2- With limited funds and supplies, the 5th graders created a prototype of a spaceship to land successfully on Mars. Then they used coordinates and coding to navigate a rover around boulders on Mars.

The 5th graders are at STARBASE all week. Day 1 consisted of engineering an energy system that can withstand a dust storm as well as keep you alive. Then, using CAD, students designed their own turbine blade that will be 3D printed. We will test them on Friday!
