Floodwood's Youth in Action students attended the L.E.A.D. "Make a Difference" conference at the DECC. They attended workshops, talked with exhibitors, and listened to keynote speaker, Mason Branstrator, who was paralyzed at age 17 in a skiing accident. He speaks to students about purpose, identity, and the pressures that come from comparison and expectations. He encourages them to find their own path, aligned with who they truly are.

Telehealth option available for families on Medical Assistance Families with children who are enrolled in Medical Assistance can use telehealth to access health care by phone or video instead of going to a clinic. Telehealth can be used to complete some parts of a Child and Teen Checkups (C&TC) visit, which are routine well-child checkups for children and youth on Medical Assistance.

Early Childhood/Preschool Screenings will be held Friday March 6th!
Early Childhood Screenings are required for students to enroll in Floodwood's Preschool program or Kindergarten. The screening is a quick and simple check of how your child is doing at 3 to 4 years of age. It identifies, at an early stage, possible health or learning concerns, so that children can get help before starting school. It is not a readiness test for kindergarten. If your child is 3 years old and has not been screened, please call Ashley at 476-2285 or email aengh@isd698.org to schedule an appointment for the next screening date or get on the list for the Fall 2026 screening date.

This month we have been fortunate to have two guest speakers to speak about art in their career! First, we welcomed Morgan Hermanson owner of Twisted Handle Pottery. She brought clay for the students to sculpted into pinch pots and spoke a bit about starting her own business. Then we welcomed John Grones, owner of the Voyageur Press, one of our local papers. He shared with the students how art plays into the makeup of a newspaper. He also brought along an employee who creates art for the paper digitally. She showed the students how she created art on her tablet. Thank you to Morgan and John for sharing how art impacts their careers!!
