Emotional Wellbeing is grounded in kindness toward self and an ability to recognize and perceive one’s own emotions and the emotions of others and respond skillfully.
Why is this important?
Being able to recognize and respond skillfully to one’s emotions is an important part of wellbeing and it takes a lot of practice. Practical tools can help the process.
This weeks challenge:
Kindness can be contagious. Practice productive, kind, positive self-talk by creating an affirmation for yourself that makes you feel proud, happy, or grateful. Then identify how you feel afterwards.
Take a look at your social media feeds. Identify those you follow that encourage positivity. Be bold and unfollow those who do not.

RESCHEDULED EVENT: Please look to most recent post on this for more details.

MCA Testing will occur on the following dates: April 8, 10, 23, 24 and 29th. Teachers will notify families of the testing schedule and would like to remind families to be sure their children are prepared with a good night’s rest, minimize screen time the night before and healthy breakfast. Also to do their best to be on time and present on days of testing. Teachers work hard to be sure to have extra snacks and fun to celebrate their hard work on testing days. Please see the attached photo on ways parents/guardians can help their students with test anxiety.
Please add to reach out to counselor at lschubitzke@isd698.org if they would like some more guidance.

Floodwood School will be closed Wednesday April 2nd due to the winter storm warning, high winds and heavy snow forecasted. There will be no virtual learning.

If your child is interested in a career in healthcare, please take a look at this amazing opportunity! SCRUBS Camp is a muti-day event which provides your students with the opportunity to learn more about health care careers by immersing them in conversations with industry professionals and educators. This is a great opportunity for students to explore future careers! Reach out to Lily Schubitzke, School Counselor, if you have questions!

Social Wellbeing - The ability to build and maintain healthy, nurturing, and supportive relationships and to foster genuine connection with those around you.
Why is this important?
Human beings are social creatures and we need trusting, loving, and accepting connections with others to thrive.
This weeks challenge:
How would activities with your friends or family change if everyone spent the day together without digital devices? Is a day too big of an ask? If so, where might you start? A meal?
