School Board Committee Meeting Notice

UPDATE: Due to further evaluation of road conditions, the Floodwood School District will be closed Friday March 13th. There will be no virtual instruction today. Instructional staff do not need to report to the building. District office staff will be available via email. All district activities are also cancelled.

UPDATE: Due to further evaluation of road conditions, the Floodwood School District will be closed Friday March 13th. There will be no virtual instruction today. Instructional staff do not need to report to the building. District office staff will be available via email. All district activities are also cancelled.
Due to road conditions, Floodwood School District will have a 2 hour delay Friday March 13, 2026. All staff should arrive 2 hours later than their normal scheduled time. Buses will run 2 hours later than the normal pick up time. Breakfast will not be served. The district building will open at 9:45 and school will start at 10:25am.
Due to the Blizzard Warning, Parent/Guardian Teacher Conferences and the Band Concert this evening Thursday, March 12 has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 17. Scheduled conferences will happen during the same set times and the band concert will be at 6:00pm on Tuesday, March 17th. Please reach out to your student's teacher if you need to change times or make other accommodations. Stay safe and warm!

What an awesome "I Love to Read" week! Today's guest readers were The Event Center's Tommy Rich, Polar Cubs Director Missy Conlon, and Commissioner Mike Jugovich. The Polar Pop-Up Cafe' was a huge success! Thank you to our sponsors Hein's Grocery & Deli and Dutch's Grill for your donations! We appreciate it! Our dress up winner today was Kiaha Newton! Right now the 5th grade is in the lead with 172 pairs of socks for the "Fox in Socks" drive!










We "Jogged into Reading" today during our phy-ed classes. Our guest readers were Police Chief Chris Kelley and City Clerk Melinda Felknor. Our dress up day winner was Dashel Thompson!

Day 3 of "I Love to Read" week made us bright! Classes enjoyed a Neon Reading Rave. Our guest readers were Officer Jones and Pastor Matt. Dean Engh was our dress up winner!






LSS Family Resource Center

"I Love to Read" day 2 dress up winner was Braxton Jussila! Our guest readers were City Councilor Maureen Johnston and Deputy Clerk Cory Suonvieri. The students enjoyed an hour of Book Bingo in the large gym with the help of our Youth in Action students as well!









Congratulation to Principal Fjeld for being the recipients of the Friend of TRIO award Friday February 27th.


A great start to our I Love to Read month! We had guest readers, Sheriff Gordon Ramsay and the City of Floodwood's Utility Clerk Kay Farrell read to our elementary, we had an all school Reading Train, and Cruz was our first dress up day winner! The 1st/2nd graders are in the lead for the "Fox in Socks" drive with 60 pairs of socks! "Track Down" 20 animals this month and receive a new book!
