We have a couple Thank Yous to go out! First, thank you to Sergeant Fye for stopping in last week with the K9. Second, thank you to the FHS Student Council for treating our staff with a little pick-me-up snack before Thanksgiving break and showing their gratitude for our staff!

The Floodwood School community would like to take a moment to recognize Donald "Bruddy" Olesiak. We are sad to see Bruddy leave the classroom. He has been a pillar in our FHS teaching team, but we hope this next chapter is everything he needs! We will miss his stories, booming voice and famous phrases; such as, "be my eyes now people, be my eyes," "You get an A for the day," Look here now, Yoohoo," and "Listen up, this is going to be quick" (talks for the whole hour). We wish you the best, Bruddy!

Congratulations to Ivy, our winner of the Scholastic Book Prize Pack for completing the Census Collection Form for the school district. Thank you to everyone who completed the form to ensure the district has all up to date information for your child.

The Floodwood School District recently asked for community, student and staff feedback on consideration of a 4 day school week. Thank you to all who participated in the survey.
Results of this survey were discussed at the school board's regular board meeting on November 18, 2024. The school board will continue this discussion at the working session scheduled for Monday, December 9, 2024.
For continued transparency, the district office has created a page to keep the community informed, outlining the process of considering a 4 day school week. The survey results are available on this webpage as well.
Please stay tuned for more information and a possible follow up survey. As always, please reach out to the district office with any questions.

We are excited to announce that our librarian, Mrs. Ruzynski, is taking on the task of updating our schools' library. She is starting with a process called 'Weeding'.
In this process she will be removing titles that are outdated, damaged, and infrequently circulated.
Items that are removed will first be offered to staff to take for their classrooms, any titles not chosen will be sent for recycling.
We have some plans in the works to replace titles and further update the layout of the library to encourage reading and create a more welcoming place for students to study.

You're invited to join us at upcoming Wellness Committee Meetings. Virtual option will be available as well.
