10th -12th grade students went to Talon Metals in Tamarack on November 21st to tour the facilities and learn about career opportunities.

Final night of Fall Parent Teacher Conferences and Scholastic Book Fair is tonight Thursday November 16 from 3:30-7pm. Elementary conference times have already been sent home. High School conferences will be held in the teachers classroom. Please stop in when you can between 3:30-7pm. The Book Fair will be open 4-7pm and is open to the public!

Great opportunity for 9-12th grade students!


Six Students from Floodwood attended the Youth in Action 29th Make A Difference annual conference at the DECC in Duluth Thursday. The mission of the annual Make a Difference Conference is to educate and inspire young people with the help of partners, to make a difference in their communities through leadership, advocacy, and service. The keynote speaker was Emily Ford, sharing her adventures as a winter backpacker and overcoming challenges that we all face. Student Presenters led break-out sessions included Sustainable Living: What You eat, and how You sleep, Benthic Macroinvertebrates (Aquatic Creepy Crawlies), a Room of Requirement, Invasive species in MN Lakes, Fears and Phobias and how to overcome them, Fashion Recycled, Reducing Consumer Waste and Zumba.
Students were treated to lunch and snacks and swag from supporting vendors.

On Thursday, TRIO Talent Search brought 10-12th grade students to St. Cloud to visit both St. Cloud Technical and Community College and St. Cloud State University. They toured the campuses, met the staff, and learned about the programs offered. It was a fun day with a great group!
