We would like to take a moment to give a shoutout to Bode Hutchinson! Bode is a 5th grader and has been wrestling with the Grappler program out of Grand Rapids.
Jan 4th- Bode competed in Fargo at Rumble on the Red Wrestling Championships. There were over a thousand youth wrestlers with some of the best wrestlers in the country. Bode took home 1st place in the 10u 85 pound division.
January 11th - Bode competed in the 3rd tournament series out of 4 for the Midwest Wrestling Tour in LaCrosse Wisconsin for Badgerland Nationals. Bode took home 1st place in his division for 10u 85 lbs. Bode was also awarded the Midwest Belt for his podium accomplishments during the tour. To receive a belt, a wrestler must place in the top 4 in 3 out of 4 tournaments. Bode has placed 1st place in 3 of them so far and is looking forward to completing the last leg of the tour - Gopher Nationals which is held in February.
Congratulations to Bode and Good Luck in February!

Hello TRIO Seniors & Families!
In our senior meeting last Tuesday, we went over the steps in the financial aid process. All students planning to attend college in the fall should complete the FAFSA. It is the best way to get financial aid including scholarships, grants, and if necessary, low interest loans for college. Here are the steps for students to receive financial aid in the fall of 2025:
Step 1: Students create an FSA ID. We went over this in our TRIO meeting. This is how students will legally sign the FAFSA. We will finish creating FSA ID's by Tuesday (12/17) using this secure site: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/personal-info
Step 2: One parent/guardian from each family will need to create their own an FSA ID using this secure site: https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/personal-info to legally sign the FAFSA. This needs to be done a few days before you plan to complete the FAFSA.
Step 3: Using the FSA ID's, each student and their parent/guarding will complete the FAFSA. This can be done on your own if you are familiar with the FAFSA, or by attending the FAFSA Night held here at Floodwood on Tuesday January 21st. Attached you'll find a very informative list of things to have with you while completing the FAFSA! Please see attachments.
FAFSA Night is a drop in opportunity scheduled for Tuesday January 21st from 5-7pm in room 164. Stop in sometime between 5-7pm, it usually takes about 30 minutes or less to complete. Ms. Schubitzke and I will be here along with a Financial Aid representative from CSS available over Zoom to help answer any question we have in the process. This is optional, but highly encouraged, as you'll leave with the FAFSA completed!

Softball Pitching Clinic will be starting soon. To register, please complete the attached form and return to the district office with payment. Paper copies of the registration form are also available in the district office.
