Dear Parents and Guardians:

Are you ready for spring to arrive? The calendar says it should be here, but the snow and cold temperatures are still here.  I am looking forward to the day when we have regular temperatures above 50!

Family Fun Night will be held on April 19th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Family Fun Night is sponsored by our Polar Pride team. We will be having a Polar Pride meeting to discuss other events and activities as well as our work on improving the culture and behavior in our building. You are welcome to attend. The meeting will be in my office at 7:50 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25th.

Our goal for the year was to have our attendance rate for the school be 95%. When determining our attendance rate, we aren’t looking at excused or unexcused absences.  We are only looking at the number absences. Excused and unexcused comes into play when determining the grades for students or truancy. As of today, our attendance for the school is 93.21%. Please help us to raise our attendance rate to 95% by ensuring that your child is in school every day from now until the end of the school year. Your help is appreciated!

MCA testing is in full swing. We look forward to seeing the results. Our students and staff have worked diligently to not only be the best, but to do their best. Our job is to ensure our students have the best learning environment and learning opportunities possible. The teachers and paras are continually working to meet the needs of the students. With the growth we have made and continue to make, I am confident we are working toward being the best school in Minnesota.

I am looking for a group of parents to lead an active PTO. The school belongs to parents just as it belongs to students and staff members. If we are going to continue to grow, I need all stakeholders to be involved. If you are interested, please email or text me. My email is rvillebrun@isd698.org and cell number is (701) 278-1599.

Sincerely,

Dr. Rae Villebrun
