The Floodwood Elementary enjoyed visiting with Dan Urshan today and hearing his childhood story about Duke, the family dog, disappearing.  Students listened to Dan read his book and asked questions about the experience.  He shared his writing process and the amount of time it took for him to begin the writing process until he had a published book.  Students were able to share a very emotional experience with him as almost all the students have a dog, have lost a dog, or helped rescue one.  His books is on sale at his website, Where's Duke with a very, very special pricing of $10 for the Floodwood School District families.  All proceeds are donated to the Animal Allies and programs to give books to classrooms.  He donated 2 copies to each classroom. Orders can also be placed with Ms. Davidson and we'll get them to him.
