The kindergarten class earned an ice cream party last week for high scores in their winter assessments! Students helped make a goal to exceed their previous scores and then decided how to celebrate with an ice cream treat.
Next, they voted for their favorite ice cream flavor and then wrote out a shopping list for their favorite toppings. Last, they ordered their ice cream from our kitchen cafe and enjoyed it for Friday's snack.
The class also viewed their assessment progress graphs on the Vibe board and made a connection to the inclined planes they were learning about in STEM. Their inclined planes (individual progress graphs) were like rockets blasting up to the sky. Way to achieve your goals, kindergarten! You are soaring to new heights each day.

Busy Bakery: A Recipe for Learning
Kindergarten students spend time helping prepare our daily snacks. Friday's treat was a recipe for homemade granola with greek yogurt and orange slices.
The boys and girls were actively involved start to finish and enjoyed the fruits of their labor.
Our recipe for learning is always delicious and fun!

Busy in the K Kitchen!
Kindergarten students love to help make our daily snacks. On Friday, we tried a new recipe for homemade granola. We worked one at a time reading the recipe, sequencing the step-by-step directions, measuring, and mixing. After baking the granola, we added it to our greek yogurt and orange slices. It was the perfect healthy snack to wrap up our busy week at school.
Learning in kindergarten is hands-on, fun, and important to our daily lives!

Kindergarten Construction Zone: BIG Learning in Progress!
Kindergarten students are busy designing, testing, and improving inclined planes. Simple materials were provided with few directions. Students quickly determined the best ways to build a ramp/inclined plane and how to make an object travel far and fast. They also learned that cylinders travel better than cubes because of their round sides.
We are hard at work!
