Floodwood Staff sat in on a presentation today by the American Lung Association on Vaping (harm of vaping, what types of devices are around, what to look for and symptoms of those that vape).

We are Kind: Kindergarten students learned about bullying and how to be a kind friend during our STEM lab this week. After viewing a video segment, partners discussed how the bullies could show kindness instead. Then, we applied what we discussed with three hands-on STEM building projects: Stacking cups, Keva Planks, and playdough creations. We talked about how we need to be gentle and use helping hands with friends while playing stacking cups. We practiced working together as a strong and skilled team during our Keva building. Finally, we practiced giving and receiving compliments while creating unique artforms out of playdough. K is for Kind!

The Kinder Crew made a very simple recipe for crock pot playdough! This was another easy, fun, and academically-rich experience in our classroom kitchen. Students learned about the states of matter and discussed the physical reaction that took place with the introduction of heat.
